"When I first started training in Tai Chi Yang style in 1992 I had no idea of taiji ball, ruler or stick "bang". I knew taiji was a martial art although like most people I couldn't see how anything so slow could help you in a fight let alone a fight for your life. I had a master teacher in Frank Fong. He would teach you without you knowing you were taught. For instance he was teaching us Silk Reeling I didn't know that. I once asked him to teach us Silk Reeling, he would just smile. He taught us Zhan Zhuang, I didn't know that I just thought it was a nice way to relax before starting class. These were new to me, I started in Japanese and Korean arts with Ki and horse stances held for long periods of time.

With the exception of Zhan Zhuang, taji ball is becoming a lost art. Dr. Yang is preserving his version with this dvd. Taiji ball is a great training and conditioning exercise. He explains the different kinds and uses of the tai chi balls in the beginning of the video. As I listened I began to understand even further why it is difficult for anyone to fight with the Chinese arts when we don't train like the Chinese train. If you go through the proper training you will be an awesome fighter.

The waist and the spine are very important in taji. The taiji ball qigong course helps you train these two important aspects of taji. Without them your training and skills will not mature for a long time. If you get a chance to add Taiji Ball Qigong 1 & 2 to your learning library, do it."
