Movie Reviews

Kick Back & be taken away...

"If you're reading this, you're probably an old softie like me. I enjoy this type of entertainment, and rarely have I been as moved as by the lovely music of Tim Janis and his absolutely brilliant ensemble. Much of the music sounds alike, which is not bad considering ALL of it is wonderful and original. I've visited all the National Parks included (except Yosemite) and it's rare to find words to describe them; they are perfectly described in music (and a brief, non-obtrusive narration by George Clooney). Every individual in Tim's ensemble is brilliant, dedicated and heartfelt delivery by all. You can tell they truly love this man and his vision (and profound talent). The photography, by endless numbers of brilliant individuals, captures the beauty in just fashion. I saw this first on PBS. The DVD has a lovely rendition of an original song called "On Wings of an Angel", a song that Mr. Janis is rightly proud of. The singer (don't know her name) is like Celine Dion without the smarm. A wonderful performance, it's made me a huge Tim Janis fan, and I look forward to all of his future endeavors. He is a talent that I hope everyone can experience, at one time or another. BRAVI TUTTI! UPDATE: I've since visited Yosemite. Music and magnificence are well presented."
Do not buy

"Red alert! I bought this after reading glorious reviews only to be devastated. Brief seconds of beautiful awe inspiring scenery hyper-annoyingly interrupted by long periods of watching a very boring orchestra and some guy playing the piano with this weird goofy smile on his face. I wanted some background scenery with nice music. That's not what I got. The music is great. But if I wanted music, I'd buy a CD. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! I returned the DVD."
Disappointing!

"We own several videos and DVD's that show spectacular scenery and have awesome music. THIS is not one of them. We purchased this DVD after reading the back cover, expecting to see the beauty of America's National Parks. What you WILL see is a scant few seconds of scenery, followed by endless images of the orchestra and musicians. It was so irritating that I started counting the seconds that scenery was shown and then how much time was spent on the orchestra. When it got to 6-8 seconds of beautiful scenery (just enough so that you started to relax and enjoy it) only to be followed by 25 seconds of musicians in the studio, we turned it off. It was not relaxing. It was irritating. I was actually surprised that someone with an appreciation of the outdoors would devote so little time to showing it! Don't waste your money. Desert Vision is a far superior selection if you are looking for beautiful imagery with a soothing music background."
Absolutely Gorgeous Scenery and Music.

"This is the 1st time I've seen a Tim Janis production and I must say... the music and the videography is stunning! America is really beautiful and the sweeping landscapes are spectacular. Ocean Rose (1st video track blew me away). Clarity of this DVD is superb too. I would think that Tim Janis is the Thomas Kinkade of Music."
