Movie Reviews

Good DVD for beginners.

"I got a few of these beginners DVD's and this was by far the best.

There's another one called "Play Alto Sax" and that was decent too for the money... although it's only 25 mins long; it was presented more professionally than this Ultimate Beginner one which is 60 mins long.

I'd say definitely get both - they're both good. Make sure you don't waste your money on the one called Essential Elements 2000 (book + DVD) because it's really very bad.

Learn 8 notes!

"I was shocked to see so many positive reviews. This is a 40 min dvd that tells you how to take the instrument out of the case and play 8 notes. That's it! This same lesson could have been 10 min. Oh, I forgot, it also tells you how to put the instrument back into the case... what a waste of money.

I can only assume that the publisher or author faked the other reviews.

I would recommend the book "Absolute Beginners Alto Saxophone" which comes with a CD over this DVD any day."

"This is incredible, I can't believe anyone would sell a garbage like that that shows how to take an instrument out of the box and put it back with some minimal (4 or so notes) instruction on actual playing the sax.

I'm returning it, thanks"
