Movie Reviews

This band is very, very talented.

"Umphrey's McGee is a band from Chicago that is taking the improv rock world by storm. They are absolutely phenomenal musicians that can play (and frequently do) with a Zappa-like complexity, yet, and this is the amazing thing: they switch on a dime into a much more accessible , dare i say poppy, vocal sound. Their singer/guitarist Brendan Bayliss has a voice which can do alot - though he is not the rangiest singer, he has a very pleasant to listen to-voice- This is an extreme rarity in their genre and his lyrics are excellent. That combination of voice/melody & stellar musicianship sets them apart from any band in any genre, in my opinion. I could go on and on raving about this band especially their "stunt guitarist" Jake Cinninger, but let's move to the DVD. This DVD was the first created by Emtybag productions - they basically started their company with this release, and it is excellent. Clear as a bell, it slams right into the first song of the show introducing you to each band member in a very personal way. Great multiple angles , you're really onstage with them in this production. One small caveat; this band is gaining momentum and power so fast that this performance, a little over a year and a half ago with their first drummer pales beside their current live performances. But it's what they've got on DVD and believe me even then they were GREAT. Buy the DVD, then see 'em this year and - if you like good musicians - this little band will KNOCK YOU OUT."
Well Worth the Money!

"For an up-and-coming band, this is a hell of a DVD package. Great picture quality, incredible sound quality (including a number of surround sound choices), and a tons of fun extras.Lots of eastern eggs hidden throughout, so there is much more to this DVD than simply a concert performance. It's well worth the money if you are into jam-prog rock."
Awesome Concert DVD - Will Blow Your Friends Away

"I first saw Umphrey's McGee live at the Langerado music festival in Florida and, after seeing them, bought this dvd without reading any reviews or doing any research. To my surprise, the dvd surpassed all of my expectations. The audio quality is outstanding. Your friends will not have heard of Umphrey's McGee, but when you show them this disc they will not forget who turned them on to this band first. Umphrey's is one of the best up and coming jam bands out there - you will not be disappointed with this dvd. I own many concert dvds, and as far as overall marks go, this dvd is up there as a great concert and a must have for any jam band fan. Hope the review helps - enjoy."
Great Sound and Video Quality

"Any Umph fan would love to add this to their collection, Since this performance was from 2002 Mike Mirro was the drummer, not that he isn't exceptional, I just prefer the new drummer Chris Meyers. Totally worth the price, Andy's Last Beer, Utopian Fur, amazing.... The boys from the midwest really tear it up at home... And make sure to score your 2005 Skyline Tickets ASAP they go quick, the DVD is great but you cannot fully experience these guys till you see a live show!"
