definitely a different take on the zombie genre, being set in africa. i rated it three stars. it is very slow paced and the ending didn't quite satisfy me personally, it's open-ended and deliberately ambiguous, but it does remind me of the first zombie film i ever saw which was romero's night of the living dead as a child. it's a personal story with some level of character development and slow moving but voracious zombines. not like many of the newer zombie flicks where they move with wild frenetic speed. it's pretty well made, good cinematography and pretty well written, maybe with some storyline gaps and editing issues. an hommage to romero perhaps, if you grew up on the black and white night of the living dead from the 1960's, and remember it fondly, then check this one out.

Better than average zombie movie. Unique African setting. Genuine suspense and some nice jolts. A bit slow-paced, but it works.
