I love this movie.

The acting is well done as is the writing, and the storyline and plot is both interesting and sustainable. But the superstar here is the soundtrack by Queen.

I'm not sure that the special effects would ever have been considered good, but with the performances this is easily overlooked. There is a few continuity issues though, what with Prince Baron bleeding red instead of green (which they showed earlier in the movie) but in general this movie is really well done. And a few poorly done points, for instance a softball sized meteor would create a substantial crater, not just set fire to bed sheets.

They do a good job of pulling away from more mature content to keep a PG rating, still some material is inappropriate for younger kids.

This film is a cult classic! If you enjoy Sci Fi Action movies and can overlook the special effects then this is one that you will want to keep as you will be watching it repeatedly.
