Movie Reviews

This is terrible

"I decided to begin my amazon dvd collection by purchasing this film(and I use that term very loosely).I have no problem with indie films,b-movies,and low budget shlockers, but this movie is just pathetic. It makes absolutely no sense. They show tree branches with inaudible noises in the background for no apperent reason other than to fill some time. There is no gore whatsoever, and if I could have given it zero stars I would have.Save your money."
Whoa! This IS different!!!

"Okay folks, LAST HOUSE ON HELL STREET is one strange bizarre [messed]-up movie. Though it does not thrive from the "traditional" horror aspects, it is soooo whacked out that I found it extremely pleasurable. Haunting imagery and creative editing make this little gem stand out!
Speaking of "stand out" the performance from Robin Garrels was far above most if not all performances that I have seen on this (or any) level. If you are dying for the different, the bizarre, or the non-"traditional" horror movie then LAST HOUSE ON HELL STREET is the perfect remedy!"
I guess if you don't know what constitutes a good art film,

"But otherwise just skip it. This film is nothing more than a bad art film with a whole of shots of leafless trees, and a few random shots of ducks and things like that. It kinda feels like an episode of PBS's Nature interspersed with a woman with cheap effects on her spouting endless exposition and a couple doing copule-ish things for a while.

But oh man. Forget the couple. That exposition. Ok, so there's a woman. And instead of a narration we get to see her with some really bad camera effects. Discoloration and inverted colors and all that. It's like the director just found it on his camera and decided it was cool and used it. It's bad. And boring.

I have no problem with indie films. Or even art films. But this comes off so bad, as if it was made by a bunch of amatuer middle schoolers.

At least I had fun talking like an announcer for Nature during all those prolonged shots of leafless trees. That's really all the entertainment I got out of this movie."
This is just terrible

"I ordered this movie as my intro to amazon,a cheap indie movie.Let me start by saying I have no problem with indie films,b movies,or cheap shlockers. But come on!!!This is a horror movie??I think not.You need some blood for a start.I can see a butchers knife beside someones head...is it supposed to be IN the head?who knows..you like seeing b&w tree branches with distorted voices in the background? This movie has a ton.Is a story to follow something that would interest you?Nothing to see here.Like saving money?Don't buy this dog.No more Sub Rosa movies for me....ever"
