A real disappointment considering an all-star cast of characters!

How does one take a $12 million dollar movie and bomb at the box office with under $1 million in ticket sales? Hire a long list of Hollywood A-listers, put them in a movie about a cartoonish, one-dimensional police officer, and give it perhaps the most anti-climactic ending ever made. Even if you agree with the typical Hollywood politics behind this miserable ensemble of Woody Harrelson scenes, there's no real entertainment value to the film. I think the intent of the film is to resemble something like the Wrestler with Mickey Rourke, but the audience has no reason to connect with the character or care what happens to him. Instead, the film follows Harrelson for 90 straight minutes until the meaningless ending of the film. The only real point of interest is the reference to the Rampart scandal in LA at the beginning of the movie, but unless you already know what that is, you'll still be left wondering because the plot essentially has nothing to do with that - despite being the apparent inspiration for the movie.

A strong cast, but a disappointing movie. Typical "bad cop, dealing out his own justice while doing whatever he wants" movie. Not a redeemable aspect of the main character. It got boring very quickly. The best part of this movie is the cast that the cover boasts & the preview for it.
