Movie Reviews

Tough intense workout!

"This is rated as an "ADVANCED" video, and thats correct. While the choreography is basic and easy to follow, the circuits are tough. Sharons enthusiasm is a bonus here. This workout kicked my [...] the first time I did it, and I couldn't finish the program. If you aren't sure what the video is going to be like, think about doing jumping lunges and jumping squats for 30 minutes and you have it pretty close! VERY high impact. The second time I did the program, I didn't use the handweights she used in the first five minutes, and got through the first segment and moved on to the second. My legs were burning!!! The toning section has some tough pilates T stands and twists, and more leg work. Not much on the arms, aside from some killer "walking pushups". The choreography is VERY basic, and this is excellant for those wishing they could do circuit training cardio, but are intimidated by complicated aerobic "dance style" routines. Definitely a calorie burner here. Sharons cueing and set up for each new move are super.

Check out "Sparky". That girl is awesome- where does she get that energy?

I bought this because I am in a rut doing aerobics only videos, and wanted to add some circuit training to strenghten and tone my legs and thighs. I also wanted the extra high calorie burn of circuit training. I am not disappointed!"

"I bought a bunch of workout DVDs together, and this was definitely the toughest one. Sharon calls it "athletic training"...and she is right. It is not difficult to follow...although I am not (yet) physically ABLE to do every move she does. Only downside might be for someone looking for low-impact...LOTS of jumping (twisting jumps, jumping squats, etc.). Overall, a great buy."
A simple but effective workout for home

"Sharon Mann's, Shape Up With Sharon -Circuit Training is a good workout because she uses some basic training moves. Such as, she has you do squats, then immediately afterwards she has you jump up in the air and and when you come down, she has you do more squats. These really work your muscles well. If you can not jump up, she has other people on the video doing modified moves. Simple but effective are two good words to discribe this workout. I was also able to workout in a small area in my home. I recommend this workout to others looking for a fun, simple, but effective circuit training workout."
