Prequel with a young and full-of-himself Adama. Here, he's a wet behind the ears pilot who eventually winds up on an ice planet with -- of course -- deadly Cylons! This movie is also a chance to see parts of Galactica when she was still new, supposedly some 40-ish years before the timeline of the TV series.

Interesting in that it uses tons of digital backgrounds and effects, replicating and sometimes exceeding in quality what was used in the TV series.

As you'll learn in the included extras, all the original sets had been dismantled, so digital was the way to go... and it all looks good. Those interested in graphic arts and animation will especially enjoy the extras.

Definitely worth a look if you're a fan of all things Battlestar Galactica.
